SmartDitch

Challenge

Stormwater, runoff, silt, and erosion are examples of the many challenges faced by civil engineers when controlling water flow.

Logistical problems can arise when construction sites are located in remote areas.  Common water flow control measures, such as rip rap, become expensive to ship when site locations are in mountains or deep in the wilderness.

Overview

Penda’s SmartDitch leak-free channel lining system has been utilized by countless internationally located civil engineers in containing stormwater, runoff, silt and erosion.

Below is a collection of case studies that summarize water flow control problems that were solved by utilizing one or more SmartDitch solutions.

COMMON USE CASES

Solution

SmartDitch and MegaDitch are two USA-made solutions Penda offers which are available in different depths and widths.  SmartDitch includes the 12″ trapezoidal, 24″ trapezoidal, and 24″ semi-circular HDPE irrigation channels, while the MegaDitch boasts a 6.5′ base for large scale water control systems.

BENEFIT

Both SmartDitch and MegaDitch are lightweight, install over existing terrain, require minimal ditch prep, have interlocking edges and are engineered with an advanced anchoring system.
